Club Rules

Only Members in “Good Standing”, their immediate family and their invited guests are permitted to use the facilities of AVC. A Member is considered to be in good standing when current with his or her dues payment and other financial responsibilities, has the signed Liability and Save Harmless Agreement for the current season on file at the Club (i.e., Members Release) and his or her membership privileges have not been suspended by the Board. Members are entirely responsible for their guests’ behavior.

No Member will be allowed into the fields at AVC before having signed a Member Release. All guests must proceed immediately and directly to the Clubhouse to sign a Guest Release (Fishing guests may proceed directly to the Fishing sign-in mailbox to sign a guest release) prior to using AVC property and/or facilities. This includes but is not limited to: hunters, observers, guests, dog handlers and trainers, guides, food caterers and support personnel associated with tower shoots including dog handlers available for retrieving.

Members, their spouse and children/legal dependents living at home,
age 18 through 24, may sign once for the season on the Members Release included with the dues notice.
Members may also sign for their other minor children and legal dependents as well on the dues notice
Members Release by listing their names in the appropriate section. All other individuals must sign the
guest release each time they visit. Minor guests under the age of 18 must have a Release, Save
Harmless and Indemnity Agreement for Minors (Minors Release) signed by a parent or legal guardian
each time they visit. This Minors Release is printed in the Handbook for your convenience. Each guest
must have a signed Release agreement for each visit date. Contact the Club Manager in advance to
coordinate access to the proper release.

For safety reasons ALL Members and Guests must sign in with the Club Manager/Staff before being permitted on AVC property to hunt, fish or any other activity. This includes Deer hunters who must notify the Club Manager/Staff in advance of going deer hunting, i.e., phone, email or text. If appropriate, the Manager will assign general hunting areas. The Member is responsible for reading the bulletin board for special events, private hunts, or instructions. ALL guests are required to read, understand and sign an AVC Release agreement BEFORE being permitted to hunt, fish or any other activity at AVC. Any person refusing to sign this agreement will not be allowed to go into AVC fields or fish AVC lakes. Park all vehicles only in the designated parking areas.

Clubhouse Etiquette

All accounts for bird hunts and social events should be settled on a current basis. If the desk is not serviced, please leave a check covering your day’s activities or your harvest for the day (which can be debited from you house account). Cash payments are not allowed. Dogs and firearms are not permitted in the clubhouse.

You may maintain a supply of your favorite beverage(s) at the clubhouse. Before you pick up your glass, your firearms must be packed away for the day. Lockers and showers are available for your use. No towels are supplied.

Please observe the AVC no tipping policy. Contributions to the annual AVC Gratuity Fund held in November and December are encouraged to recognize exemplary services provided by the Staff.

Dog wash station: If you use the spray nozzle, disconnect it from the hose, place it on the rail of the wash station, and let the hose drop to the ground so that the water drains out and doesn’t freeze in the hose. Put the lid on the soap bottle and stand it upright and remember to remove the double-end snap-clip from your dog’s collar
